| Mr. Smith earned his undergraduate degree in economics from Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio in 1977. He received his law degree in 1980 from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois.
Mr. Smith joined Lillig & Thorsness, Ltd., in 1985. Mr. Smith's practice is concentrated in the areas of real estate, business and corporate law. Mr. Smith has extensive experience in representing owners and developers in complex commercial real estate transactions involving the purchase, sale and development of a wide array of real estate. Mr. Smith also has considerable experience advising clients in the myriad of issues concerning the purchase, sale and operation of their businesses. Mr. Smith is a partner and one of the owners of the firm. Mr. Smith is a member of the American and Illinois Bar Associations. Additionally, he is active in numerous civic, community and charitable organizations, boards and commissions, and is a member of the Plan Commission in the village where he resides.
